There are many reasons for why we feel this way, but a lot of it has to do with how we think. The problem we often have is that the process God uses for our development is not as fast or as clear as we would like it to be. But here is the truth: God is at work in our lives right now (Philippians 2:13) and we can be sure that He will finish what He started. In our passage today, we will be encouraged as the Apostle Paul shares his prayerful confidence with the church in Philippi that God is a finisher!

God loves us so much that He is constantly drawing us to Himself that we might respond with a full surrender. In our passage today we will encounter some men called the “magi” who are looking for the King of the Jews right after the birth of Christ. This story is much more than a historical narrative because it shows us how far God will go to draw us to Himself. The question that we must answer today is how will we respond to such overwhelming love?

When God made the world and created human beings, everything was good and there was peace. However, once sin entered the world through disobedience, it caused chaos, division and unrest with God and one another. The arrival of Jesus brought comprehensive peace that has past, present and future implications. As we celebrate the advent of Christ we are reminded that Jesus brought peace into the world and will continue to do so until He returns when all things will be fully and completely at rest once again.
