There are seasons and situations in our life that cause us to clearly see we need more of God. All of us love to hear and share good news. In Luke chapter 2, the Christmas story is referred to as good news and the result of hearing it brings great joy. The good news of Jesus is so much greater than anything else and it permanently produces joy both now and forevermore. Maybe we need to be reminded of the good news of Christmas and freshly receive the joy that responds to all that God has done in Christ.

Jesus was asked what the greatest commandment was and He responded by saying, “Love God and love others.” Right after Jesus said these words, He showed His disciples what loving God looked like by highlighting a widow who gave all that she had to God through her temple offering. God doesn’t want us just to give Him a little money, He calls us to give Him our entire life.

What happens when you die? Christians believe what Jesus taught concerning resurrection and this causes us to live each day with hope for tomorrow. In Mark 12:18-27 we read about when Jesus is challenged with a question by some members of the Sadducees who don’t believe in life after death. This challenge is a perfect opportunity for Jesus to further demonstrate his wisdom and reiterate the teaching and hope of resurrection.
