Northwest Church is ON MISSION with Jesus to see the lost saved and disciples made. This is our mission statement and the four words that help summarize HOW we accomplish our mission as a church family are: REACH, RESTORE, EQUIP and SEND. We have discussed what the church is and now we are looking at what the church does – and specifically what we do here at NWC. This week our focus is on how we must be a church that EQUIPS.

Thursday Feb 18, 2021
Today we want to discuss a statement that Jesus made concerning His people who represent Him and His Father which was, “My house shall be called a house of prayer for all the nations.” In a sense, this is an expression of Jesus’ mission in the world today that is carried out by the church. We are a church that REACHES UP to God in prayer because we know that God hears us and answers us according to His will. If we are to carry out the mission of Jesus effectively then we must continue to grow as a house of prayer.

Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
The Bible is clear that the church of Jesus Christ is not some invention of man but rather it is the design of God. Therefore, the church is essential in every season and every generation in order for the purposes of God to be fulfilled. We must be reminded of who we are and what we are called to do together as God’s people or we will run the risk of drifting when we are needed the most. As we study our passage today, we will freshly discover what the church is and what the church does so that we can all move together and bring glory to King Jesus.

9 - 20210124 - Casual Christianity is our Enemy
Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
Tuesday Feb 09, 2021
The book of Revelation begins with the apostle John seeing a vision of the glorified Christ that was so powerful he could not remain standing. Through this vision, Jesus gave John a message for the seven prominent churches of Asia Minor that he had a pastoral relationship with.
Jesus had something specific to say to each of the seven churches in addition to the unfolding future events that would be true for all of them. In our passage today, we will read the message that was given to the church at Laodicea. As you will see, the church in this city had slowly but surely become casual in their relationship with God and obedience to His Word. In light of this, Jesus highlights their true spiritual condition and gives them a serious rebuke with the hope that they might once again become zealous Christians that produce fruit that reveals and glorifies Jesus.

In our passage today, we will read the message that was given to the church at Philadelphia. As you will see, the church was small and seemingly weak but we know that in our weakness the power of Christ can be revealed. This lesson shows us that our impact in this world is not based on our numbers, gifts, or influence but rather it is based on our dependence upon the One who has all power over all things!

20210103 - Believing God for More
Sunday Jan 03, 2021
Sunday Jan 03, 2021
As we move into a new year it is imperative that we lay hold of fresh vision from the Lord as well as fresh faith to believe Him for more. God is always calling us forward but before He moves us on He will renew our faith in Him and His promises so that we say yes to what is next. The last season will often highjack the next one if we don’t renew our faith in God which is why we need to take inventory, process well, and truly press in so that we don’t stay behind.
We must be aware that discouragement and disappointment may have done more to our faith than we know and it could be holding us back right now. Where that is the case, Psalm 77 gives us a roadmap for stepping into new faith so that we can believe God for more knowing that He is the redeemer of our past and gives us victory over our pain.

Finding Hope in God - Part of the "Finding Hope" series.
Sunday Nov 29, 2020
Sunday Nov 29, 2020
In the Bible, the word hope means to have a trustful expectation in the person and promises of God. Worldly hope is quite different and often refers to the feeling that what we desire will happen. I think it’s important in this season to ensure that our hope is properly placed on God so that our faith does not collapse. As we rightly place our hope in Him, we will find that our ministry becomes bringing His hope to the hopeless so that they know what we know and have what we have – which is Him!

In our passage today, we will read the message that was given to the church at Pergamum. The church in this city had been faithful to the person and message of Jesus Christ even in the face of martyrdom. However, the influence of this pagan city and the spread of false teaching had introduced all kinds of compromise. Jesus makes it very clear – in order to remain faithful to Him, we must repent and allow no room for compromise in our lives.
